End of the country as we know it?

I don’t want to sound dramatic but this election result could easily be the end of the country as we know it.

It looks as though Labour may be being punished for being too left wing in England and for not being right wing enough in Scotland. The Tories will have failed to win an election and not really broken out of their heartlands. Our country is breaking up on its own. The legitimacy question is not about the numbers in the Commons. It is the failure of any of our parties to gain support across the whole country that signals the break up of our country happening without another referendum in Scotland.

In the next 5 years we will see the Tories tearing themselves apart over Europe and pressure for another referendum in Scotland. We have a torrid time ahead on so many fronts. A minority Tory government limping through the next 5 years is an awful prospect.
